All Seasons Deluxe Vacation Rentals Nelson
Meet Sydnee Paavola ~ Owner Operator of BC Trip
Geoffrey Carter, a designer of Management Information Systems for small businesses, has lived, worked and played in the Nelson area of British Columbia since 1988. The database system he built for All Seasons has become an integral part of my business operations, so he is a natural for me to call upon to look after things when I need to run away on my own vacation! It has been my pleasure to live in Nelson for the past 28 years. I came to Nelson on vacation and fell in love with the “spirit” of this unique arts town; with the rental of a small house, the Queen City became my home. I have watched Nelson grow and change through these decades. The run-down Heritage homes of the 1970’s have been renovated to become the beautiful historic gems you see today around our beautiful city. The once famous Notre Dame University closed its doors to students in 1978 but those same doors opened to the International College which brought 100’s of Japanese students to the area during the 80’s. And now Selkirk College and the Professional Music School claim these grounds as their home. The revitalization of Nelson’s downtown core has been amazing to watch as the aluminum facades of the 50’s came down and behind were the breathtaking original stone and brick buildings. I have three children, born, raised and schooled in Nelson. It has been a wonderful challenge to grow these blessed beings in an area so rich with out door activates and opportunity. Of the 11 schools and school programs offered, I have direct experience with 8 of them, with a number of years holding the Business Administrator position at an Independent Junior High School. As Foreman for the Federal Branch of Public Works, I had the responsibility of maintaining lake access structures. This job afforded me the opportunity to travel the astonishingly beautiful shores of the lakes in our area, and spend hours working at the waters edge. For 14 years I partnered the development and operation of a lumber and building supply business in the core of the city. Changing business forms in the 90’s my focus has been business Administration in: Hospice, education and women run private enterprises. When we built our second home in Nelson and the movies of the early ‘80’s arrived; Roxanne (Steve Martin & Daryl Hannah) and House Keeping (Diane Keaton); we were asked to offer the home as a rental house for the stars and crew. It has been with great pleasure, and a delightful shift for me, to be using my professional experience and knowledge of the area; blending it with the beauty of this city and our Kootenay valley and my love for interactive human communication, to offer you the best support I am able, in booking your holiday. I feel this business supports the sustainability of our small town, both ecologically and economically. This is my part in “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle"; offering high-end private homes for the enjoyment and comfort of travelling families and groups. I look forward to helping you find the perfect location and activities, through the BCTrip web site, to make your holiday memorable! Sincerely, Sydnee Paavola |
